Customer Lists and Subscribe-O-Matic and Kiosks

As you know - I'm pretty active on the XStreet forums and speak my mind with abandon (yes, I know it's a dangerous game). Well anyway - a merchant was asking Qs in the business section about her customer list - apparently someone had filed an AR against her because the group notices were too frequent?

I'm wondering how you guys feel about notices and what you would consider too frequent. Generally I go in spurts - you won't hear from me for about two-three weeks at a time and then I'll send four notices in a week. Is that too much? Should I hold back? I get excited about the products I make and although I do try and plan it out - sometimes sending the notice is what needs to be done at the moment.

Also would you rather be in a traditional SL group or do you like the subscribe-o-matic or kiosk group? With the SL group - it's easy enough to leave the group but with subscribe-o-matic or kiosk groups, you actually have to go to the kiosk to "leave" the group. I also think the potential for abuse is there because you simply just need the avatar name to add them to the group - there is no permission or whatever for the person receiving the group messages. I wouldn't do that - I don't want to make anyone angry or uncomfortable etc... I also want to maintain a good relationship with my customers - if you're happy, then I'm happy.

Which colors are your favorites?

I posted a poll regarding which colors are your favorite for buying clothing or just wearing clothes (for those of you who make things or just stick to freebies). It's interesting to note that so far Black, Red, Pink and Blue are by far the colors that people tend to stick to at SWA. I asked several other merchants and that color range seemed to hold true across the board (a few had purple as an outstanding choice.)

The question was brought up on the XStreet forums and being that I am intensely curious about consumer views and choices - I thought a poll would be a good way to determine what is or isn't popular at the moment. If the color that you like isn't on the poll - speak up and comment here!

There were also a few tools that builders and designers might like that were mentioned in the forum too. One of them is really kinda cool - it's the Name that Color web page. It's really rather neat - because IDK how many times I've tried naming something other than just "RED Pants" etc..

The other utility mentioned was the color schemer, this one has been around for a while and several of you probably have already heard of it. Any of those will pick colors based on complimentary, tertiary or analog... I think that this is a good tool if you are trying to pick out colors for a building or trying to find the best match for an outfit etc...

Calla JOINs Soigné

Yep! That's right, Calla has opened a shop on the Soigne sim right next to Bonbonniere and across the way from SecondWave Apparel. What this means is you will be able to Buy hair at Soigne - on top of all the other stuff you can get. My BFF Tigerlilly is such a great gal and most of the posters and images you've seen me in I am wearing Calla hair! Of course SODA skins too.

The skin I'm wearing is the Andrea Skin in Glow by SODA and the hair is by Calla, Artemisia - Dirty Blonde. Both of those stores you can find in the same sim at Soigné.

Calling Shopaholics and Fashionistas...

I need testers! I am working on a special project but I only have a few people left in my evaluators group. So - I need guinea pigs, evaluators etc...

Basically you will be given an outfit or an item to evaluate - each item will have a questionnaire note/card that you will be expected to fillout. The perks are that you will see works in progress and get a copy of the item once it is finished in the color of your choosing - IF you complete the questionnaire.

The only thing I ask is that you sign a confidentiality agreement - in other words you aren't allowed to breathe a word about the items or share pictures with your friends.

Other stipulation is that you at least know how to create and save a notecard, how to wear an outfit, and how to resize an item once you are wearing it.

New Shops at the Soigné SIM...

Iseult (my little sister in RL) the owner of Bonbonniere decided that she really didn't need such a large store and because of that we opened up some new shops for rent. Here's a pic of the stores as they look now. We are looking mainly for up and coming designers and people who believe in making their own merchandise. The people that we really need is a hair designer and maybe a mens clothing shop. Perks are that you will be able to send a notice once a week to the Soigne Updates group and Kiosk group and I pay for a 3k ad for Soigne once a week which will include your store name. If you are interested and want to rent from me - send me a Notecard with a few pics of your merchandise as well as how long you've been in business. Yes I'm picky - but I don't want just anyone renting here. I treat my tenants like family and only let those who are somewhat serious about this rent a shop. In other words - no BIABs and no affiliates.

Having thought about Anne Boleyn and pondering her fate and her beauty.. I decided to go ahead and revil in my obsession and make a dress. This one is loosely based off of an image I saw on CGTalk . In anycase - this is what I came up with....

The dress comes with a top on all 3 layers and glitch pants on two layers
Flexi Prim skirt and a system skirt, plus sculpted prim poofy sleeves.

The Tiara I am wearing in the picture along with earrings and necklace are from BonBonniere and are very adorable - they absolutely go with this gown! You can find her store in the same sim as mine - just across the river.

All items are copy/mod-no transfer. But if you want to buy it as a gift, please let me know via NoteCard who you are buying it for and we can settle it personally.

I will be making this dress available at a variety of locations but for now - it is at my main store.

I found this really cool little gadget, and yes I realize it's been out for a while, but for those who aren't in the know this gizmo actually gives you a live update of avatars on your sim via a webpage. Now you don't have to own the land - nor do you have to have an entire SIM, just the ability to place objects there and to run scripts.
