Siren Sundress

This new release is courtesy of a 1950's pattern that I found online at Decades of Style. I loved the pattern so much that I decided to create it in-world.
The dress not only comes with 3 layers of the top and 2 layers of the glitch pants but each design has 3 different cropped sweaters to choose from (each one on 3 layers) plus my sister (FoxyLynn Talon) has come up with a "Dress Correct" script that is included with the dress prim.
I have priced it at $L 350 because of all of the stuff you get. I will be making a fatpack and that will be available tomorrow.

BIAB's - buyer beware
Ok, ok - I'll post this one and hold off for a while on the whole "Content Theft" controversy. But I'm not promising anything, as I am prone to PMS, lol.
After looking at the posts of individuals responding to some of the things I have written I would like to clarify a few things.
First of all, I do not consider each and every BIAB a fraud or full of stolen items, I am sure that there are a few of them out there that are real and legitimate but I have yet to hear about them or see them.
Second - I do not consider those who buy BIAB's to be criminals (for the most part). The reason is that if you are new to the grid, you just may not know about the whole content theft uproar or that people actually want to cheat you. Unfortunately a lot of people have learned the hard way that these BIAB's are mostly fraudulent and full of stolen textures, objects and just not what they stated.
If you have bought a BIAB and had a DMCA filed against you - you should in turn file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission against the seller of that item. They have defrauded you and caused damage to your reputation - which, as we all know, can be devastating if you are starting a business. If the amount is big enough (I'm talking thousands of USD) or you are being sued by the designer - you may want to consider hiring a lawyer to go after the person who sold it as well. I am not saying that people should all start suing each other - but what other option is there? Linden Labs obviously has taken a neutral role in this and has been very unsupportive of content creators, not to mention the thousands of people defrauded by those selling the stolen content BIAB's or stolen texture packs.
If you do decide to buy a BIAB even after reading about all of the problem's people have had - I would suggest that you investigate the product and the seller before you buy. You also have to ask yourself "If I can buy this pack so easily and the items are full-perm, what's to stop others from buying it and selling it in-like?" What I mean is that by the time your stuff hits the market there may already be 1,000's of those packs floating around the grid - market saturation is bound to happen which leaves you with a business that goes nowhere. Please consider your purchases beforehand, it could save you money and grief in the long run.
I would like to leave you with one last thought though.
Remember the old adage: If something seems to good to be true, then it probably is.
Would you mind if....
I know some people have issues with labels or insignia's on clothing - but I noticed that my vests were taken and not any (at least that I'm aware of) of the leather pants or jeans (which were created at about the same time). My question to you is, would you mind if the SecondWave label or insignia were on the clothing that you purchase from me? I would keep the labels unobtrusive and discreet, but still legible and it would be harder for content thieves to copy the item without cost to them - plus it would be easier to identify if it were a stolen item. Comment in the blog please, as I am interested in your opinion.
Thanks!

RFL - Corsetted Acidwash Outfit

I released this last night and it made me feel a little better knowing that amongst all this "stuff" I can still make something and contribute to a cause that is very worthwhile. I have created another corsetted jean outfit with corset laced - acid wash jeans, and a corset-laced top. The top is on 3 layers and the jeans on 2. Sculptie attachments for the legs (yay!). Transfer-mod. The kiosk is right outside the shop and you can donate how ever much you want but donations of L$250 or more will be rewarded with this outfit. So come on by and help support a great cause and get a cute outfit to boot!

I have created a new group in-world called Fashion Hawks - this group is to help designers locate purported content thieves. What I would like to happen is that fashionistas who love their designers to join, as they recognize the style of the clothes and can tell right off if someone is selling stolen content.
I will try and keep the notices to a minimum (1-2 a week) and I will select a few officers who will be able to send notices (hopefully this will limit the amount of notices flying around). Also - one of the group rules is that people investigating these places not engage or discuss the possible content theft with the owner of the store or sim. We do not want to let them know we are on to them - the designer needs time to file the DMCA. The idea behind this group is so the designer can locate content thieves more quickly and gives them more time to devote to creating fashions (or buildings, or shoes etc.). Imagine if there were 200 people looking all over the grid for this stuff - it would be easier to locate and pics etc... could be taken and given to the designer so that they in turn could file the DMCA or whatever they needed to do. Now imagine if there were 2,000...
I have spent an inordinate amount of time hunting down my clothing textures and NOT creating - I'm bored and frustrated and feel that if more people were involved in this, I would be closer to finding the offending party and have a lot more fashions done for you to wear.
If you would like to join - please send me a notecard with your name so that I can invite you - as this is an invite-only group. I would prefer people be at least 6 months old to join, but there are exceptions to that and if you feel that you can contribute please send the note.
EBAY - Is the source of the recent epidemic of content theft
I found the source of the textures that are being sold in SL. The person's store is on EBAY and I have already filed a complaint but I am going to be sending the web address via Designers In Seclusion group notice and hopefully with enough pressure the person will be stopped. Not to mention that a lot of people will have the means to file suit.
Texture Reseller?
* Girl's Paradies *, Terra Tron (212, 68, 24)
That is the LM location of the texture reseller, where the person - who was selling my vest, said she got the texture from. I looked around and could not find any of my items but I did notice a whole lotta other stuff. If you make shoes, hair, clothing, furniture, jewelry or any other item in SL you may want to check this place out (although the Pepto Pink will make your stomach turn). I did not recognize anything but I want to make sure that people are aware of this area. If you do find you stuff there and need information on filing a DMCA - contact the group DIS or DMCA in-world. Of course you could always google it...
If these textures are stolen - it is a very sad sight. Anyone who has spent time and energy on making content will be upset. If the textures aren't stolen - the person who owns that area is VERY prolific (which I do not believe - the styles from one outfit to another vary drastically, and seem to differ on style as well as technique).
People who buy this stuff must be incredibly gullible - or they just don't care.. If you have bought a BIB or Texture Pack - I would love a response to this post as to why you bought it and if it would bother you to know if those textures were completely stolen? Or if you are a creator of BIB's - I would absolutely flip if you could comment and tell us why you would give your stuff away.
Business In A Box - should be banned...
I had found out yesterday that someone was selling my leather vest - yes I was angry, but a little mystified. The person in question has IM'd me telling me that they did not know it was stolen and that they had purchased the textures in a BIB for L$10,000. Looking at her profile - she has been here long enough to know that BIB's are rip offs, so why did she do it? I Don't Know - I cannot jump into the mind of someone who buys items that are stolen (BIB's are stolen most of the time) or sells freebies.
It baffles me that when buying these texture packs that people honestly think that the textures are legitimate. They aren't. I do not know one single designer that would sell off their textures like that. The reason being is that it makes no sense at all. Here's why, if I make a top (one top in several colors - very easy if you have the original file btw), over a weekend release I can make around L$10 - L$60k on that ONE item. Now let's say I sell the texture instead - I might make some money off of it initially but not nearly as much as I would selling it legitimately - because everyone who has that texture can resell it or they can sell that item. This floods the market and makes that item null, after a few weeks no one is buying because the market is saturated.
So, tell me why would anyone sell their clothing textures? That's my point - they don't. These texture packs are created by the copybot and by people hacking into their openGL on their machines. I really believe that SL should BAN the sale of BIB's - they propagate the need for the copybot. That is how people who use copybot make most of their money - by reselling the textures that they have stolen. If you ban their use or distribution this may solve a lot of the content theft (although I'm sure not all). I also think that the Lindens should suspend any account trying to sell them. Honestly - If I as a designer, wanted to sell these things I could make a ton more money doing it on reseller sites (where they verify who you are and you have to send a copy of your driver's license etc..) - not through SL.
I would like to say that ANYONE who buys a BIB is just kidding themselves. You know who you are and you know that they property you got is stolen, shame shame shame on you. You are the main reason that the copybot is propagated, you are the reason some people who made some beautiful things have left SL out of frustration. You also have made it very hard on the people who do make these items to even try anymore. It takes on average 5-10 hours to complete an outfit for me - I don't care how much you paid for that texture, it's stolen and it took you maybe 30 minutes to create the top and take pics, please tell me who is profiting more?
The whole thing is just sick. I would like to put it out there that I think Linden Labs should create a new level of membership for content creators who want to sell their stuff. In order to get this you have to PROVE who you are by not only sending credit card information, but sending a copy of your Driver's License (or ID) and paying an additional fee (this would be for the background check). This would be the only level of membership that would be able to set the different permissions or set items for sale. Everyone else would only be able to create full perm objects and none of those objects would be able to be for sale. This would allow the Lindens to track people who are sellers and reprimand those who are breaking the law (copying textures and reselling them is against SEVERAL laws) by taking their account status away. It would also prevent alts from coming back and setting up shop - why bother if everything you make is full-perm. But it would allow those here for fun to still be able to create things and pass them on to their friends, or just practice and gain confidence before applying and gaining the seller status.
Well - I hope that maybe some of you who are thinking of buying BIB's - now you won't. I also hope that my suggestion about creating a "Seller's" level of membership maybe adds to the whole conversation and that the Lindens hear about it. Especially if enough people tell them. I also believe that the only way to truly get the Lindens to do something would be to file a class-action lawsuit forcing them to create some sort of new permissions feature... But we'll see.
Content Theif - trouble for me, windfall for you!
I made these a few months after coming to SecondLife. I have the LAYERED PSD files to prove that I am in fact the creator..
A loyal customer found this:
OBVIOUS THEFT! But hey, No skin off of my nose cause I am putting ALL of my leather vests on sale for 5L per pack. The Leather Vest Sets are only 25L (which include the mini skirt, cami and vest). Come on down and buy buy buy! Put this stupid girl out of business. I would rather GIVE my stuff away than let a theif get any money out of it! I am also going to do the same to the items on SLExchange and OnRez. It just takes a few minutes so check tomorrow please...
I will not put her name or LM here as I do not want to provide her with any more traffic AT ALL. Support the real designer here and let me know you like my designs.
